FOUNDER OF CARMEL VALLEY TEST PREP

Hi, I’m Richard.

I founded Carmel Valley Test Prep with one clear mission: to help students reach their highest academic potential through focused, strategic, one-on-one instruction.

I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from NYU’s School of Engineering, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and was honored with the Myron Rosenthal Award for the highest academic achievement in a Master’s program.

After recognizing a gap between academic theory and real-world performance, I returned to NYU as a professor at the Tandon School of Engineering, where I worked with graduate students in a highly competitive academic environment.

I am also a member of Mensa, reflecting a lifelong commitment to analytical thinking, problem-solving, and academic excellence.

Since founding CVTP, we have helped hundreds of students achieve top-tier SAT, ACT, and AP results — including many 1500+ SAT scores and perfect AP outcomes.

What drives everything we do is simple: students improve fastest when instruction is personalized, strategic, and focused on the right work.
