Great question! Both the SAT and ACT are widely accepted by colleges and universities in the US. The best way to decide which test to take is to consider your individual strengths and preferences.
Ultimately, most colleges accept both tests equally, so choose the one that best showcases your skills!
The amount of time it takes to improve a test score varies depending on several factors, including:
Initial score: Students starting with lower scores typically see greater improvements.
Amount of tutoring: More frequent and consistent tutoring leads to faster progress.
Individual progress: Each student learns at their own pace; some may progress faster than others.
Test type: Different tests, like SAT or ACT, require varying levels of preparation.
Student effort: Students who actively engage in tutoring sessions and practice outside of class see better results.
On average, We suggests committing to a minimum of 3-6 months of tutoring to see significant score improvements. However, this timeframe can vary, and it's important to set realistic goals and celebrate progress along the way.
Whether or not to take the SAT depends on your individual circumstances and goals. Many colleges and universities have adopted test-optional policies, meaning they do not require applicants to submit standardized test scores like the SAT. However, taking the SAT can still have benefits, such as:
Some colleges may still require or prefer test scores
Scholarship applications may require test scores
It can demonstrate your academic readiness and strengths
It can be used for placement or academic advising purposes
Consider your college choices, research their testing policies, and discuss with a school counselor or advisor to decide whether taking the SAT aligns with your goals.
